Community Involvement

As part of the Hyde Park community, we feel that it’s our duty to give back whenever possible. In addition to offering excellent medical care for pets, we consider it our responsibility to help area families and local rescues, too. Anything we can do to make our neighborhood a better place is more than worth our while!

EVENTS

We love mingling with community members, offering not only services but education for people of all ages, as well. Recent events in which we’ve taken part include:

Free Pet Health Fair

We have currently done 4 Free Pet Health Fairs with the Chicago Wolves and Lost Pets of Illinois. Our team has provided vaccinations, exams, nail trims, microchips, and more to hundreds of pets. We look forward to continuing our partnership with these organizations for many years to come!

A Day at the Vet

Dr. Williams and his team visit with children at the DJ Brooks Headstart Center to demonstrate pet exams and other basic treatments and answer questions. We believe in teaching compassion and care for animals to children at a young age in order to foster the human-animal bond in our community.

Career Day

Dr. Williams regularly visits Socorro Sandoval Elementary School to spark curiosity and encourage greater interest in pet care by teaching young students about different species.

Hyde Park Animal Hospital 5K

In 2018, we had our first 5K to support the Hyde Park Cats rescue. We look forward to seeing this event grow so we can do more to help this outstanding organization.

Lab School Vet Day

We perform wellness exams on all of the classroom pets at the Lab School with students in attendance to teach them about the basics of veterinary medicine and give them the opportunity to ask questions. This has become one of our most popular events and we hope to continue it well into the future.
